Make it Glow

The Hands-on Approach

Sometimes the Christmas items you find just don’t fit your perfect holiday home. “If you can’t find the right fit for a tree skirt, make your own,” Dawn says. “We often just purchase several yards of velvet, linen or burlap to wrap around the base of the tree.” You can adapt this look for slim or fuller trees, with no sewing required.

Light up the Holidays

Candles can add a beautiful glow around any room. “I like to use candles on fireplace mantels and coffee tables,” says Dawn. “The flameless battery-powdered pillar candles and votives are great for these locations.”

A Bright Finish

Sometimes, your décor needs a little flash. Dawn advises to add metallic finishes, even if you don’t usually decorate with shiny, fancy or luxurious items. “Bright, metallic items reflect the Christmas tree lights and candlelight beautifully,” she says.
