Decorating your Christmas Table

Few places in the home bring out the cozy warmth of the holidays like the dining table. Whether your loved ones are joining you cross-town or cross-country, decorate your table to welcome them and show you care. Here are a few tips from Lisa.

Freshen Your Fixtures. Lisa adorns her brass chandelier with small holiday accents like foliage and berries. “Some years, I tuck in little birds or butterflies,” she says. The light fixture becomes an impromptu Christmas tree, and rounds out the dining table space.

Sparkling Centerpiece. Draw your guests in with a large, inviting centerpiece. “I like to do a big centerpiece,” Lisa says. “I place the pedestal bowl on top of a silver tray and layer in moss or more greens, pinecones and berries.”

Festive Votives. Small votive candles dispersed along the table make for a charming set-up. Or, for a more compact table, concentrate the candles near the centerpiece. “Extra votive candles always make for a more festive holiday table,” Lisa says.
