Artistic Endeavors

Victorian Homes - - Shopper -

In the long gallery, the oak furniture was crafted from old cupboards brought together and made into beautiful pieces of art. The craftsmen added carved columns and ornate details to make them appear like a single, original piece of furniture. They also reused antique furniture and fabrics to make attractive new chairs. You too can create new furniture, using bits and bobs from antiques shops, junk yards or craft stores. Add new paint effects, stains or varnishes to old furniture. Use carved wood, columns or other decorative features to add authentic Victorian detail to a plain cabinet. Gold leaf is a great way to add some color and style to an old piece of furniture or picture frame.
