Waikiki’s re­la­tion­ship with surf­ing goes be­yond its sandy beaches and fan­tas­tic surf­ing spots. This neigh­bor­hood also houses a unique mu­seum that high­lights the im­pact surf­ing has on Hawai‘i and the rest of the world. Step into the Honolulu Surf­ing Mu­seum lo­cated at Jimmy Buf­fett’s at The Beach­comber and you will dis­cover fas­ci­nat­ing ar­ti­facts that cel­e­brate the unique re­la­tion­ship be­tween the Hawai­ian cul­ture and surf­ing.

Don’t be de­ceived by the mu­seum’s ca­sual feel, it houses a great col­lec­tion of surf mem­o­ra­bilia such as vin­tage surf­boards, clas­sic surf­ing footage, some Hol­ly­wood surf­ing props and a col­lec­tion of mu­si­cal in­stru­ments unique to Hawai‘i.

So af­ter en­joy­ing a few hours in the sun and catch­ing a few waves in Waikiki, be sure to stop by the Honolulu Surf­ing Mu­seum to get a glimpse into the rich his­tory of surf­ing while en­joy­ing some drinks at their full ser­vice bar right in­side the mu­seum!
