Fort Oglethorpe church offering a ladies conference and concert July 30-31
Battlefield Parkway Church of the Nazarene in Fort Oglethorpe, is hosting a Ladies Conference Saturday, July 30, and concert Sunday, July 31, featuring Gaither Homecoming Artist, Allison Speer.
Speer is known for her powerhouse vocals and has appeared on numerous Gaither Homecoming videos as well as for Southern Baptists Conventions, Nazarene General Assemblies and district events, and Bailey Smith Conferences. She also performed at Brooklyn Tabernacle, First Baptist Atlanta, Word of Life Ministries, Liberty University and more.
“I have a mission,” Speer says. “My path is to bring people back to the study of the Bible. Many Christians do not read it, still fewer study it and it has become acceptable to only glean the mouthfuls received from the pulpit sermons on Sunday. Because of my studies, God has drawn me close to His side where I have found abiding joy and comfort. I now want to share that Secret Place of the Most High God with others, not just in music, but in speaking.”
In 2013, Speer’s debut comedy project was taped in front of a live studio audience. This DVD opened the door for Allison to expand her singing and speaking ministry to include her skill of story telling as well as her great sense of humor.
Rhonda Frye, Worship Leader at Battlefield Parkway Church of the Nazarene said she was thrilled to host Speer.
“She is a great friend, and one I respect tremendously,” she said. “She is a master of communication and I know she will provide a great day of spiritual renewal for the ladies of North Georgia through the laughter, music and the Word. I am also excited that her schedule will allow her to stay with us in concert during our worship service on the following day.”
Conference registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with the morning session to follow. The conference will break for lunch and then resume at 1 p.m. for the afternoon session. The church is conveniently located on Battlefield Parkway with many restaurants to choose from for the lunch break. Along with Speer, there will be worship, door prizes and more. All ladies are invited and encouraged to bring friends.
On Sunday morning, July 31, at 10 a.m. Speer will minister through music during the morning worship service. Everyone is invited.
