Libraries accept food for fines in November

- Cherokee Regional Library System press release

The Cherokee Regional Library System’s 2016 Food for Fines Campaign will begin Tuesday, Nov. 1, and continue through Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Library patrons may “pay” library overdue fines with a canned food item. This will help re-stock food banks in Dade and Walker County Georgia. Please help give back to the community during the holiday season. Items collected will be donated to Tri State Food Bank, The Cottage, the Care Mission and the Rossville Church of Christ Food Pantry.

One canned food item equals $1 in paid fines with a limit of 10 cans (or $10 in fines). Lost or damaged book fees may not be paid with food. Food items must be in good condition and unexpired.

The Cherokee Regional Library System has branches in LaFayette, Chickamauga, Rossville and Trenton. Please visit chrl.org for more information.
