through every­thing she did or said. She wanted to share her tes­ti­mony with ev­ery­one she came in con­tact with. She wanted ev­ery­one to know the love and life they could have in Christ. From the very be­gin­ning, she said “this is not about me. Some­one needs the Lord and if this is what it takes to get them there, I’m okay with that.” She was so self­less. You could talk to her about any­thing and knew that she would lis­ten or give you the best ad­vice ever. You could be as open and hon­est with her as you wanted and know that she was still gonna love you any­way.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Ray Lanier; sons, Se­bas­tian Lanier and Car­son Lanier; par­ents, Bob Jones and Kathy Jones; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy and Mil­lie Oliver; sis­ters, Pam Jones, Tam (Jamie) Col­bert, and Shea (Corey) Hag­gard; brothers, Bo (Sher­rice) Jones and Tim (Jen­nifer) Jones; sis­terin-law, Ann Wallin and Tina (Frank) Good­win; sev­eral aunts, un­cles, nieces and neph­ews.

Bar­bara Floyd Gulledge, 75

Bar­bara Floyd Gulledge, 75, went to be with her Lord and Sav­ior Je­sus Christ on Thurs­day August 24, 2017 at 1:40 am.

Born May 26, 1942, Bar­bara spent most of her life in the East Ridge and sur­round­ing ar­eas, with a brief time in Lex­ing­ton, KY and Spar­tan­burg, SC. She was a 1960 grad­u­ate of Cen­tral High School and re­tired from Mueller Com­pany in 1985. She was a de­vout Chris­tian and had de­voted the past 23 years of her life serv­ing at South Semi­nole Bap­tist Church.

Bar­bara was pre­ceded in death by father Bray­ton Floyd, mother Clau­dia Floyd, hus­band Joe H. Gulledge, sis­ter, Naomi Lank­ford, brothers Bray­ton Floyd and Ray­mond Floyd.

Bar­bara leaves be­hind brother, James S. (Shann) Floyd SMSGT USAF (ret.) of Hix­son, TN, sis­ters, Joyce Ram­sey of Gross Ile, MI, Brenda (Doyle) Camp of Har­ri­son, TN. Three chil­dren; Chris (Deb­bie) Clark of Soddy Daisy, TN, Cara (Marty) Frizzell of Graysville, TN, & Tony (Lu­cre­tia) Clark of Flow­ery Branch, GA. Bar­bara had five grand­chil­dren; Re­becca (Ja­son) Branum, Rachel (Tim) Wil­son, Ali­cia Clark, Bran­don (Sarah) Clark, Kayla Clark and also five great grand­chil­dren; Cierra Ed­wards, Waylon Wil­son, Pre­ston Branum, Ash­ton Hill, & Ella Clark. Bar­bara also leaves be­hind many loved nieces and neph­ews.

Nancy Lou Har­ris Dover, age 65, of LaFayette passed away Thurs­day, August 17, 2017.

She was pre­ceded in death by her twin sons, Don­ald Wayne Dover and Wal­ter Lee Dover; par­ents, Jack Har­ris and Louise Mas­ters Har­ris; and brother, Richard Har­ris.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, An­gel (Tracy) Mitchell of LaFayette; son, Michael (Katie) Dover of Vir­ginia; pre­vi­ous hus­band, Don (Su­san) Dover of Ohio; seven grand­chil­dren; sis­ters, Char­lotte Can­non of North Carolina and Donna (Richard) More­field of Ten­nessee; sis­ter-in-law, Shirley Har­ris; sev­eral nieces and a spe­cial niece, Jackie (Mike) Kelly and sev­eral neph­ews.

Fu­neral ser­vice: 2 p.m. Sun­day, August 20, 2017 in the Wil­banks Memo­rial Chapel with Pas­tor Chris Spears of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Ar­tie Eu­gene Byrd, 54, Flint­stone

Ar­tie Eu­gene Byrd, 54, of Flint­stone, passed on Wed­nes­day, August 23, 2017 in a lo­cal hos­pi­tal.

Ar­tie was born in Fort Oglethorpe on March 24, 1963 to the late Lester Leon Sr. and Kath­leen G. Byrd and has resided in the Flint­stone area for sev­eral years. He pre­vi­ously worked with Camp­bell’s In­su­la­tion as an in­staller. He at­tended Bat­tle­field Min­istries Com­mu­nity Church and en­joyed play­ing pool, play­ing gui­tar and fish­ing.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he is also pre­ceded in death by three brothers, Lester “Big Boy” Byrd, Michael “Free Bird” and Billy Leon Byrd and two sis­ters, Ruth Ellinger and Deloris Byrd.

Sur­vivors in­clude his brother, Clarence (He­len) Byrd; sis­ters, Char­lotte Guinn, Mar­i­lyn (Michael) Davis, An­gela (Chris) Mil­li­can and Lorene (Tim) Mor­ris; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews and spe­cial friend, Brenda Moody.

Grave­side ser­vices: 2:00 PM on Satur­day, August 26, 2017 at Old Look­out Ceme­tery with his brother-in-law, Chris Mil­li­can of­fi­ci­at­ing.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Terry Scog­gins; par­ents, Wil­liam “Dub” Carnes and Alma Cook Carnes; brother, Fair­ley Carnes; and daugh­ter-in-law, Julie Scog­gins.

She is sur­vived by son, Ter­rell Scog­gins of LaFayette; grand­chil­dren, Trei Scog­gins and Mar­shall Scog­gins; sis­ters, Liz (John) Young of Sum­merville, Jo (Ed­die) Wallin, Sue (Char­lie) Gil­breath, Ann (Jerry) Wil­liams, and Elouise Cantrell all of LaFayette; brothers, Gene Carnes of Chatsworth and Charles “Bud” (Pam) Carnes of LaFayette; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Jackie D. Crow­der, 63, of Chicka­mauga, passed away on Fri­day, August 25, 2017 in a lo­cal health care fa­cil­ity.

Mrs. Crow­der was born in Soddy Daisy to the late Robert & Eve­lyn Hind­man and was a mem­ber of Jones Memo­rial Bap­tist Church in Rossville. She was also pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Ju­nior Crow­der, sis­ter, Bon­nie Miller, and brothers, Allen & Ed Hind­man.

Sur­vivors in­clude her sons, Leroy (Kim) Crow­der, Justin (Becky John­son) Crow­der; sis­ters, Thula Payne, Rob­bie Broome, & Linda Par­rot; brother, Randy Hind­man; grand­chil­dren, J.D.
