Ring­gold spik­ers split on road, earn sweep at home

The Ring­gold Lady Tigers made the short drive to Her­itage on Tues­day and re­turned home with a split of their matches with Dal­ton and the Lady Gen­er­als.

Ring­gold took down the Lady Cata­mounts, 25-16 and 25-20, be­hind 14 kills, three digs and a block by Ricki Lynn Bickley. Chloe Hall picked up three kills, four digs and an ace, while Zoie Met­calf dished out 15 as­sists, 12 digs and five aces.

Other con­trib­u­tors in­cluded Jasley Brooks (2 kills, 6 digs), Lau­ren Ter­rell (1 kill, 2 as­sists, 1 block, 6 digs), Bethany Thoma­son (3 digs) and Jewel Parham (1 kill).

Ring­gold dropped both sets to Her­itage, 25-21 and 25-19.

Bickley had nine kills, three digs and an ace in the loss. Hall fin­ished with three digs, two kills and a dig, Met­calf added 10 as­sists, two aces and a dig, while Thoma­son (2 kills, 1 ace) and Brooks (1 dig) got onto the stat sheet.

On Thurs­day, back in David Moss Gym­na­sium, the Blue-and-White made quick work of Model be­fore han­dling state-ranked Chat­tooga.

Ring­gold ham­mered the Lady Blue Devils, 25-2 and 25-6, thanks to Bickley’s nine kills and seven digs. Met­calf recorded five kills, 17 as­sists and 13 aces, while Hall added 10 digs and two kills.

Other stand­outs in­cluded Brooks (8 digs, 1 kill), Ter­rell (3 kills, 2 digs), Thoma­son (1 kill, 1 dig), Parham (2 digs) and Emily Ri­d­ley (3 aces, 4 digs).

The Lady Tigers got a tougher test from Class AA’s No. 8-ranked squad, but still got the sweep, 25-19 and 25-18.

Bickley paced the of­fense with six kills, while adding 16 digs. Hall had 12 digs, a kill and an ace. Met­calf recorded 10 as­sists, 11 digs, four kills and two aces, while Brooks picked up nine digs, two kills and a block.

Other con­trib­u­tors in­cluded Ter­rell (11 digs, 1 kill, 1 as­sist), Thoma­son (8 digs, 1 kill, 1 ace, 1 block) and Parham (2 digs).

Ring­gold (9-5) will be back at home on Tues­day to host Coahulla Creek and Chat­tanooga Cen­tral, start­ing at 5 p.m., while they will con­tinue the home­s­tand on Thurs­day (5 p.m.) against Dade County and South­east Whitfield.
