OCA spik­ers stay above .500 mark

The Oak­wood Chris­tian Lady Ea­gles played tough with ri­val CAYA last Tues­day, but were ul­ti­mately swept in three close sets.

The Lady Ea­gles from Col­legedale picked up the vic­tory by scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22.

An­nika Green had six kills and five blocks for OCA, fol­lowed Lexie Asher with three kills and three digs. Raleigh Suits recorded three digs and a kill, while Lily Green had two kills and a dig.

Other con­trib­u­tors in­cluded Layla Rogers (1 dig), Emilee Teague (1 dig), Mary Ownby (1 block) and Amelia Michael (1 dig).

Oak­wood im­proved to 4-3 on the sea­son this past Thurs­day af­ter split­ting a pair of league matches in Knoxville.

OCA de­feated Knoxville Apos­tolic, 26-24 and 25-15, as An­nika Green scored seven straight ser­vice points in a row in the match. Green fin­ished with four kills and two blocks. Ownby also had four kills to go with a dig. Asher had two kills and two digs, while Lily Green had two kills.

Other con­trib­u­tors in­cluded Suits (2 digs), Michael (2 digs, 1 kill), Teague (1 dig) and Olivia Guest (1 kill).
