El­don Mullins, 81, Rossville, Ga.

El­don Mullins, 81, of Rossville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1, 2017, at his res­i­dence sur­rounded by his fam­ily.

Mr. Mullins was born on the 2nd day of Au­gust 1936 to the late Wil­lie and Charles Mullins of Flint­stone, GA. Mr. Mullins spent most of his ca­reer in the plate glass in­dus­try as a glazier and later on as an es­ti­ma­tor in the Chat­tanooga area. He mar­ried Mary Char­lotte Petty on April 22, 1954 and to­gether they raised three daugh­ters. Mr. Mullins was heav­ily in­volved in their ac­tiv­i­ties. He loved to watch his girls play soft­ball and he also coached some of their teams through­out the years. Mr. Mullins was a mem­ber of Bible Bap­tist Church where he was able to share his pas­sion for mu­sic, play­ing his guitar, and singing. He loved spend­ing time with his fam­ily. Noth­ing made him hap­pier than his grand­chil­dren and great grand­chil­dren. Mr. Mullins en­joyed the beach and he un­der­stood that it was not solely about the des­ti­na­tion but it was also about the jour­ney he loved so much. Mr. Mullins left and im­pact on ev­ery­one he met. He will be dearly missed.

He was pre­ceded in death by his sis­ter, Mary Charles Gib­son; brother, Billy C. Mullins and grand­son Jonathan Wall.

Sur­vivors in­clude his wife of 63 years, Char­lotte Mullins; three chil­dren, Kim (Wayne) Wall, Vicki New­ton (Rick) Miller and Janet (Mike) Rear­den; grand­chil­dren, Nikki New­ton, Justin (Kim) New­ton, An­gela (Danny) Gal­lego, Zach Rear­den, Mandy Wall and Amy Wall; great grand­chil­dren, Cruz New­ton-Jack­son, Belle New­ton, Gabriela Gal­lego, Wil­liam Gal­lego, and Jake Wall; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Mary Kate Cum­mings Lynn, 62, of Tun­nel Hill, Ge­or­gia passed away Tues­day Oc­to­ber 3, 2017.

A na­tive of Rae­ford, North Carolina, she has lived in the Ca­toosa County area for the past 47 years and was formerly of Lum­ber­ton, North Carolina. She was a for­mer Bus Driver for Ca­toosa County where she worked for 20 years and was a mem­ber of the King­dom Hall of Je­ho­vah’s Wit­ness in Ring­gold, Ge­or­gia.

She is pre­ceded in death by her fa­ther, Mitchell Davis; mother, Cilla Cum­mings Sewell; and brother, Peter Cum­mings.

She is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band of 47 years, Don­ald Eu­gene Lynn of Tun­nel Hill, GA.; three chil­dren, Cyn­thia Diane Chap­man of Tun­nel Hill, GA., Mary Michelle Keener of Tun­nel Hill, GA., and Michael David (Jamie) Lynn of Tun­nel Hill, GA.; two sis­ters, Ludie Bar­bour of Max­ton, N.C., and Daisey Maye Cum­mings of Max­ton, N.C.; three broth­ers, David Earl Cum­mings of Max­ton, N.C., Ju­nior Ray Sewell of Tun­nel Hill, GA., and Carl Lee Sewell of Jack­sonville, N.C.; seven grand­chil­dren, Jor­dain Lester Keener, Tyler Wil­liam Dean, Zachary David Dean, Ha­ley Lynn Claiborne, Mykynzie Eu­gene Keener, Michael Dono­van Lynn and Mal­lory Kath­leen Lynn; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Phyl­lis Ann Madaris Moses age 65, of LaFayette, GA passed away Mon­day – Oc­to­ber 2, 2017.

She was born in Chicka­mauga, GA to the late Ralph Franklin Madaris and Cather­ine Dixon Madaris. She was a life­long res­i­dent of the LaFayette area and en­joyed tak­ing care of oth­ers. She was a Cer­ti­fied Nurse As­sis­tant and had worked with Hutch­e­son Hos­pice and was the for­mer owner/op­er­a­tor of Heav­enly Haven As­sisted Liv­ing Home. She was a mem­ber of Gospel Light Chris­tian Fel­low­ship in LaFayette, GA.

Along with her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her sis­ter: Donna Stoker.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band: Alvin D. Moses, their chil­dren: Ser­ena Kay Moses Dixon, To­nia Kath­leen Moses all of LaFayette, GA, Alvin Lee Moses of Oolte­wah, TN, sis­ter: Brenda Madaris of Ring­gold, GA, five grand­chil­dren, seven great-grand­chil­dren, sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Her­man Nave, 84, Chicka­mauga, Ga.

Her­man Nave, age 84 of Chicka­mauga, passed away on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 3, 2017.

He was a life­long res­i­dent of Chicka­mauga and was a mem­ber of Fel­low­ship Bap­tist Church. Her­man sev­ered his coun­try in the U.S. Navy dur­ing the Korean Con­flict and re­tired from Com­bus­tion En­gi­neer­ing af­ter 36 yrs. He was a lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther and un­cle, who will be greatly missed.

Her­man was raised and pre­ceded in death by Mommy and Poppy Nave.

He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, of 60 yrs., San­dra Nave; sons and daugh­ter-in­law, Michael & Lisa Nave, and Mark Nave; grand­daugh­ter, Heather (John) Mil­li­can; great grand­child, Noah Luke; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Grave­side ser­vice: 1:00 pm on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 6, 2017 in the Chicka­mauga City Ceme­tery, with Rev. Doug Jor­dan of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Avis Jeanette Loughridge Thomas, age 96, of LaFayette, GA passed away Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1, 2017 at Bap­tist Vil­lage, Way­cross, GA af­ter an ex­tended ill­ness.

She was born July 10, 1921 to the late Wil­liam Ben­jamin Loughridge and Mag­gie Wheeler Loughridge. She was a long­time mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of LaFayette, where she served for many years as Trea­surer as well as as­sist­ing weekly in the church li­brary. She was a re­tiree of the Bank of LaFayette and sup­ported many or­ga­ni­za­tions and causes dur­ing her re­tire­ment.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Wil­lard Emory Thomas; brother, Ben­jamin Ross Loughridge; sis­ter, Betty Genelle Roberts; and daugh­ter, Mar­garet Lynn Thomas Ben­nett.
