- STAFF REPORT

FARMINGTON — Farmington City Council approved two action items at its Aug. 8 meeting.

It rezoned .75 acres at 12377 Jimmy Devault Road from R-1, single family residential, to R- O, residential-office, at the request of Dr. Tim E. O’Neill, a local veterinarian. O’Neill plans to build two structures on the property. One will be a grooming salon and the other a residence for the groomer.

The Farmington Planning Commission recommended the rezoning at its July meeting.

Council members also approved a change order for $ 45,918 for the South Appleby and Drain Road paving projects. The change order was requested due to pothole and subgrade repairs.

The city’s July sales tax report shows that sales tax revenues were up for the month of July for both the city sales tax and the county sales tax, compared to July 2015. The city received more than $43,000 from its 1-cent sales tax and more than $95,000 from county sales tax proceeds for a total of $152,668. For the same period last year, the city received $143,896 in sales tax revenues.
