Free Con­certs To Head­line Trades Day

Rain can­celed Prairie Grove’s 2nd Satur­day Trades Day in Au­gust and or­ga­niz­ers are hop­ing for nice weather for the Septem­ber event.

The next 2nd Satur­day Trades Day will be Satur­day, Sept. 9, in down­town Prairie Grove with most of the ac­tiv­i­ties planned for late af­ter­noon and into the evening.

Three home­grown bands known through­out the area will present free con­certs and visi­tors are en­cour­aged to bring chairs and blan­kets and en­joy the mu­sic.

Head­lin­ing the event will be a free con­cert at 6 p.m. by Joe Giles and the Homewreck­ers.

Live mu­sic will start at 3 p.m. in the lawn next to the Prairie Grove Cham­ber build­ing with McKen­zies’ and Gen­eral Holler. John Hays and Friends will play at 4:30 p.m.

Grilled ham­burg­ers and hot­dogs, along with chips, candy and drinks, will be avail­able at the Cham­ber build­ing. Costs will in­clude $5 for a ham­burger bas­ket and $3 for a hot­dog bas­ket.

Chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties also will start at 3 p.m. An in­flat­able bounce house and slide, Party Time Ponies and face­paint­ing will be on site for chil­dren to have their own fun. Car­riage rides also will be on­go­ing for guests.

All pro­ceeds from Trades Day go back to fu­ture events.
