Les­lie Wayne “Les” Baker, 78, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Wed­nes­day, Nov. 8, 2017. He was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Spring­field, Mo., the son of Hurchel H. and Eva E. Yates Baker.

He was re­tired mail­ing su­per­vi­sor at the Univer­sity of Arkansas.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Ab­bie; a son, Gre­gory B. Jeko; a grand­son, Devin Jeko; a sis­ter, Nancy Baker; and a brother, Jerry Baker.

He is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, An­ge­lea Hol­comb and her hus­band Clay­ton of Fayetteville; a grand­daugh­ter, Heather Cooper and her hus­band, Ja­son of Farm­ing­ton, Ark.; a grand­son, Heath Hol­comb and his wife Chelsey of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and two great-grand­chil­dren, Lay­ton Cooper and Ken­leigh Cooper.

Grave­side ser­vice was held Fri­day, Nov. 10, 2017, at Fairview Memo­rial Gar­dens, un­der the di­rec­tion of Moore’s Chapel. Memo­ri­als may be made to the Wash­ing­ton County An­i­mal Shel­ter, 801 West Cly­des­dale, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
