Lincoln Senior Adults Enjoy Outing To See Blooms
The Lincoln Senior Center bus was full of members as they made the annual trip to Muskogee, Okla., to enjoy the beauty of the azaleas in Honor Heights Park. They were a little disappointed in the lack of color, as the recent cold weather had set back the opening of the buds. They did, however, enjoy the trip, and eating out along the way.
Some of my azaleas were far enough along that they were damaged, others have encouraging green buds, and two are in bloom. Hopefully, the bushes themselves were not damaged.
Now, May is here, and surely, spring. So, May is Better Sleep month, family support, family wellness, older Americans, healthy vision, high blood pressure, stroke awareness, allergy and asthma awareness, arthritis, mental health, clean air, correct posture, barbecue, egg, hamburger, salad, salsa, garage sale, moving, bike, book, and smile month. So, take good care of yourself, eat well, and SMILE!
We also have VE Day May 8, and Memorial Day, May 28.
Now a little humor (could be true?) from a publication:
The Navy intercepted a boatload of people off the Texas coast today.
This placed the Navy in an awkward position as the boat was not heading to the U.S.A., but towards Mexico and Central America.
Another surprise was that the people were white American retirement age seniors. Their claim was they were trying to get to Central America or Southern Mexico as they wanted to return to the U.S. as immigrants. Then they would be entitled to far more benefits than they were receiving as legitimate American retirees.
It is believed the Navy gave them food, water, and fuel and assisted them on their journey.
We are booking on the next boat out. Let me know if you want to join us.
Happy birthday to Nicole Evans, Allen Caswell, Brad Crudup, Orrin Hacker, Stephanie Reed, Alexa James, Louis Guess, Ethan May.
Happy years, all!
