John Leroy Barr
John Leroy Barr, 91, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Sunday,
Sept. 9, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville,
He was born Sept. 17,
1926, in Hot Springs, S.D., the son of
Leroy John and Helen Eva (Sanftner) Barr. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Eileen Branaugh Barr; his parents; one brother, Leonard “Bob” James Barr; and two sisters, Marlene Fair and Bonnie Oman.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Nations Barr; one son, Leroy George Barr and wife Donna Chase Barr of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Donna Lee Miller and husband Milt Miller of Salem, Ore., and Kelley Dawn Barr of The Dalles, Ore.; eight grandchildren, Marilee Henderson, Blake Ryan Barr, Stephen Leroy Barr, Sandra Rochelle Barr, Darcy Adams, Tony Melbye, Nicole Stocks and Chelsie Fortune ; three stepchildren, James Lynn Edens and wife Lisa Ann Edens, Kathy Leigh Keck and husband Bradley Keck and Lisa Anne Luke; seven step-grandchildren, Craig Edens, Paige Edens, Sarah Edens, Daniel Keck, Joshua Keck, Stephanie Bowen, and Christopher Luke; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
