January into February is usually a pretty slow time for big things to happen in Disney World. Nonetheless, recent announcements mean that big changes are on the way. More closures have been announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios as they begin to make way for Star Wars Land. Let’s take a look at some of the other new revelations over the past month:
t’s been quiet at the Magic Kingdom. So, let’s take a look at the most recent addition to the restaurant family. The Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen, the Jungle Cruise themed restaurant, is now open in Adventureland. Right now they only take walk-up reservations. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Change is coming to Epcot's Imagination Pavilion. If you are a DVC member, you may want to take a look!
Tradnation, a new French Canadian entertainment a ct w ill be performing i n the Canada Pavilion for a limited time. Catch the new musical experience five days a week until mid-april.
In case you missed all of our prior announcements, Soarin’ is now closed. Soarin’ Around the World will debut sometime in 2016. The original opening was projected as the summer of 2016, but there has been no specific re-opening date confirmed.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Feel like a star when you make reservations at Minnie's Silver Screen Dine.
Say goodbye to Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. You still have about two months to see it before it’s gone for good. Also leaving is the Studio Catering Co. and Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area in order to make way for Star Wars Land.
Kylo Ren joins the meet and greet at Star Wars Launch Bay this month.
The Force is strong at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.
Club Villain opened January 16th. Advanced reservations are recommended for this special ticketed event.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
A “Lion Guard Adventure” will be coming to Animal Kingdom starting February 7th. Based on a Disney Channel movie, this will be an interactive experience throughout the park. It is expected to last until late March.
Downtown Disney/disney Springs
There’s nothing new to announce for Disney Springs this month. However, many new restaurants and retail locations are on their way. Stay tuned!
Disney’s modified version of free dining is back! This time it’s for the summer!
In case you missed it, security has increased at the Disney Theme Parks. Make sure you know what to expect and what is allowed before your next trip.
