Best Attraction: Talking Mickey

WDW Magazine - - Content - BY TRICIA KEIERLEBER

When you enter the Magic Kingdom, immediately to the right on Main Street, U.S.A., you will find the Town Square Theater. From park opening to closing, you can meet the mouse that started it all, Mickey!

Located inside the theater, guests often don’t mind a wait, giving them refuge from the harsh Florida weather. As you can imagine, this unique experience is so unforgettable that Fastpass+ is available. While you are in the theater, you can also get hop over to meet Tinker Bell, or catch a delicious meal at Tony’s Restaurant. The theater also houses gift shop (after meeting the characters you will exit through it) and the Camera Center shop for all of your photography needs and serving as Disney Photopass Headquarters.

You will find steps leading up to the theater, alongside a wheelchair accessible ramp to the right, (near the entrance located just after passing under the train station).

Be sure to plan to meet this magical, talking Mickey on your next WDW vacation! It will surely be a talked about memory for many years to come!

This is a very special meet-and-greet! Magician Mickey certainly has magic up his sleeve and he knows how to us it! He is also the one and only talking Mickey in the parks! That is right, he talks, and his eyes and mouth move as well. This fully interactive, magical meet-and-greet is one that guests of all ages will not want to miss. My family and I usually plan to meet him a few times each trip because he is so much fun! Photopass Photographers are there to capture the magic, which leaves your hands free to get it all on video! I do not video nearly as much as I would like, but I always remember to record this experience!

Our first meeting with the talking Mickey was so magical! My daughter, Ann Marie was dressed as Aurora and Mickey asked her to dance! He took her hands and began humming “Once Upon a Dream” from Aurora’s movie Sleeping Beauty. That's right! He not only danced with my daughter, but provided the accompanying music as well! If that is not the definition of Disney Magic, I don’t know what is! She also met him dressed as Tiana, and on our most recent trip, she met him as Minnie Mouse! With each costume, he interacted accordingly. He bowed to my princess, and he was thrilled to set eyes on his longtime love!
