Dad’s Common Sense Tip #3 - Avoid the Thundering Herd

WDW Magazine - - Front Page -

It happens every night. The last firework pops, the nighttime parade or show ends, and the stampede begins. Oh the thundering herd - the insane mass of people heading for the park exits. It’s crazy. The walkways are jammed. The buses are overflowing. Even the monorail is completely full. You can get totally run over if you aren’t prepared. Or… You can relax. Enjoy After Dark in the park. Stroll through the gift shops. Grab a snack and find a bench. If the park isn’t actually closed, go ride a couple more rides (there are always shorter lines when the thundering herds head for the exits). Chat with a Cast Member or two. The Cast Members won’t actually start shooing you out of the park for an hour or more. Transportation runs for two hours after the park closes. There is no need to hurry out.
