Pandora - The World of Avatar is of­fi­cially open! Can you be­lieve it? Have you had the chance to visit al­ready, or will you visit this sum­mer? There are many up­dates that ar­rived with the open­ing of Pandora, in­clud­ing a Mo­bile Or­der op­tion at Satu’li Can­teen. This is a unique op­tion that lets you pre-or­der from the My Dis­ney Ex­pe­ri­ence app. Dis­ney plans to ex­tend this op­tion through­out the Walt Dis­ney World Re­sort.

There’s more great news this month in­clud­ing tick­ets for Mickey’s Not-so-scary Hal­loween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christ­mas Party. There’s never been a bet­ter time to visit Walt Dis­ney World!

Magic King­dom

The last show­ing of the night­time spec­tac­u­lar Wishes at Magic King­dom was on May 11th. On Fri­day May 12th, Hap­pily Ever Af­ter de­buted as the lat­est and great­est fire­works and pro­jec­tion dis­play. If you missed the live stream, you can see a re­play on the Dis­ney Parks Blog.

The first Mickey’s Not-so-scary Hal­loween Party will be Au­gust 25th and tick­ets are on sale now! There are 32 spook­tac­u­lar party dates to choose from. You can also get your tick­ets for one of 21 jolly days of Mickey’s Very Merry Christ­mas Party. Ticket prices went up and are tiered, mean­ing if you want a pop­u­lar day, you are go­ing to pay more. Some dates can sell out so if you have your heart set on go­ing, get your tick­ets early.

Ex­per­i­ment 626 has bro­ken out of his “high se­cu­rity pris­oner trans­port cham­ber!” Stitch’s Great Es­cape has come out of sea­sonal clo­sure and will be open from 10 am un­til 6pm daily un­til Au­gust 19th.

Ep­cot

A love-themed pin event is com­ing to Ep­cot Au­gust 25th and 26th. The spe­cial tick­eted event will fea­ture limited edi­tion pins and is a great op­por­tu­nity for col­lec­tors and those who en­joy pin trad­ing. The cost is $150 per guest and in­cluded limited edi­tion pins and a $30 Dis­ney gift card.

Dis­ney’s Hol­ly­wood Stu­dios

“The Mu­sic of Pixar LIVE!” be­gan on May 26th for a limited en­gage­ment. While space is avail­able, you can book a din­ing pack­age to guar­an­tee re­served seat­ing to the show. El­i­gi­ble restau­rants in­clude Hol­ly­wood & Vine, The Hol­ly­wood Brown Derby, and Mama Mel­rose’s Ristorante Ital­iano. Din­ing reser­va­tions like this are a great way to get a Fast­pass (es­sen­tially) with­out us­ing one of your three se­lec­tions.

Light­ning Mcqueen is back! For a limited time, you can see a sneak peek of the up­com­ing Cars 3 film at Dis­ney’s Hol­ly­wood Stu­dios. The pre­view will be in the One Man’s Dream at­trac­tion and will fea­ture art­work from the pro­duc­tion. This will be a short-lived pre­view as the film opens in the­aters on June 16th.

Dis­ney’s An­i­mal King­dom

This month, this sec­tion could be dubbed “Pandora- World of Avatar” as most of the news cov­ers the open­ing of the new­est land.

Lead­ing up to the open­ing of Pandora - The World of AVATAR, Dis­ney re­leased sneak peeks into life out­side of earth. No mat­ter if you are a fan of the film or not, it’s hard to deny the new Au­dio-an­i­ma­tronic tech­nol­ogy used in the the Na’vi Shaman of Songs, is in­cred­i­ble.

Start your day off right with a de­li­cious break­fast at Satu’li Can­teen in Pandora. Some of the menu op­tions in­clude Vegetable Goat Cheese Frit­tata, Steamed Pod with Scram­bled Egg, Ba­con, and Spinach, and even Cin­na­mon Swirl French Toast for the kids.

Mo­bile Or­der, the op­tion to pre-or­der your food, has ar­rived in Pandora. This op­tion is avail­able at the Satu’li Can­teen and will even­tu­ally ex­pand to other lo­ca­tions within Dis­ney’s An­i­mal King­dom. Us­ing the My Dis­ney Ex­pe­ri­ence app, you can place your or­der and pre-pay, and then tap the “I’m here” but­ton when you ar­rive so the kitchen can freshly pre­pare your meal. Dur­ing the ini­tial launch, you will only be able to pay us­ing a credit card (not din­ing plan en­ti­tle­ments) and if you have spe­cial diet re­stric­tions, you will need to or­der in per­son.

With Pandora now open, you can be­come the proud mom or dad to a ban­shee! The ban­shees come in ten dif­fer­ent col­ors and have mul­ti­ple move­ments and sounds. The in­ter­ac­tive pup­pets will help keep the won­ders of Pandora alive long af­ter you have re­turned to earth. Adop­tion fees are $49.95 and you can be matched with your ban­shee at Wind­traders in­side Pandora.

Ex­plore the new world of Pandora while sav­ing an­i­mals back on Earth. Through the My Dis­ney Ex­pe­ri­ence app, you will be able to con­tact an “eco­log­i­cal spe­cial­ist” to com­plete some spe­cial mis­sions to un­lock con­tri­bu­tions to­wards the Dis­ney Con­ser­va­tion Fund. It looks like it will be a lot of fun for the whole fam­ily!

If you have Mem­ory Maker on your next trip to Walt Dis­ney World, head to Dis­ney’s An­i­mal King­dom for some wild magic shots. Show your Dis­ney Side with but­ter­flies, bal­loons, Flik, Kaa, and many more as you cap­ture fam­ily mem­o­ries. Be sure to ask your Pho­topass Pho­tog­ra­pher for a magic shot ev­ery time you get your pic­ture taken; you never know what magic will ap­pear.

Dis­ney Springs

There’s a new Mem­ory Maker photo shoot in town! Lo­cated at Tren-d in Dis­ney Springs, you can find a Dis­ney Pho­topass Stu­dio set up to cap­ture your Dis­ney Side. A va­ri­ety of vir­tual back­drops are avail­able, in­clud­ing Star Wars in­spired scenes. Pho­tos can be pur­chased sep­a­rately if you don’t have the Mem­ory Maker en­ti­tle­ment.

Gen­eral In­for­ma­tion

Free din­ing was an­nounced in May. In case you missed it, here’s the scoop. Value and Mod­er­ate re­sorts are el­i­gi­ble for Quick Ser­vice din­ing and Deluxe re­sorts are el­i­gi­ble for the reg­u­lar one Ta­ble Ser­vice and one Quick Ser­vice din­ing plan. The pack­age must

in­clude two days of park tick­ets plus hop­per. There are many date ex­clu­sions in­clud­ing all of Oc­to­ber. Also, avail­abil­ity is ex­tremely limited. If the dates you want are booked, keep try­ing.

If free din­ing isn’t your thing, you can still save on rooms this fall with Dis­ney’s En­chanted Es­cape. You can save up to 20% at Value Re­sorts and up to 25% at all other re­sorts most nights from Au­gust 1 to Oc­to­ber 7. The of­fer ex­cludes 3-bed­room vil­las, Dis­ney’s Art of An­i­ma­tion Re­sort- Lit­tle Mer­maid Stan­dard rooms, and Bun­ga­lows at Dis­ney’s Poly­ne­sian Vil­las & Bun­ga­lows. Rooms, of course, are limited. You must book by Au­gust 31st.

There are two new Mag­icband 2 col­ors. Sort of. The sort of part means that they aren’t in­cluded in the free Mag­icbands you get when you stay at a Walt Dis­ney World Re­sort, but they can be pur­chased sep­a­rately. The new black Mag­icband fea­tures ei­ther a Star Wars de­sign or Grumpy. The new teal Mag­icband fea­tures Elsa from Frozen. A Mag­icband pur­chased sep­a­rately and linked to your My Dis­ney Ex­pe­ri­ence ac­count. If you’re a fan of the new col­ors or char­ac­ters, it’s a fun way to show your Dis­ney-side!

Feel like a VIP as you cel­e­brate your next birth­day or spe­cial oc­ca­sion with a spe­cial Mickey Mouse ears cake. Start­ing in May, you can or­der the choco­late or white choco­late cakes from any Ta­ble Ser­vice res­tau­rant owned by Walt Dis­ney World Re­sort. The spe­cial treat will cost you $35 (plus tax and gra­tu­ity) and serves 4-6 peo­ple. You could al­ways or­der spe­cialty cakes in the past, but what makes this unique is you don’t have to pre­order, but you can. Al­though, pre­order­ing doesn’t hurt since they may have limited quan­ti­ties the day of, but it’s a neat way to add on a last-minute sur­prise.

Dis­ney has re­leased prices for Night of Joy con­cert tick­ets. This year they have tiered the prices to ac­com­mo­date for those who want two-night tick­ets and those who want to add on a day in the park. Sin­gle-night con­cert only tick­ets are $45, Two-night con­cert only tick­ets are $69, and guests can add on a one day Walt Dis­ney World theme park ticket for only $62 (all prices are plus tax.) The con­certs will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Com­plex in Septem­ber and tick­ets will go on sale in early June. We’ll keep you up­dated when they go on sale.

Clos­ings and Ren­o­va­tions- June

The Hall of Pres­i­dents will be closed un­til June 29th to make room for the new pres­i­dent.

Mis­sion Space will be closed June 5th through July 28th.

An­i­mal Hos­pi­tal and Ve­teri­nary Treat­ment room at Rafiki’s Planet Watch will be closed un­til mid-june.

Por­to­bello Coun­try Ital­ian Trat­to­ria in Dis­ney Springs will be closed un­til Fall 2017.

The Roar­ing Fork and Trout Pass Pool Bar at Dis­ney’s Wilder­ness Lodge will be closed un­til sum­mer 2017.

Dis­ney’s Yacht Club Re­sort will have room and Con­ven­tion Cen­ter re­fur­bish­ments through 2017.

Dis­ney’s Caribbean Beach Re­sort will be un­der­go­ing re­fur­bish­ments un­til some­time in 2018. The ren­o­va­tions will close Old Port Royale Food Court, Shut­ters at Old Port Royale, Ca­bana Pool Bar and Ca­lypso Trad­ing Post. Other food op­tions will be avail­able dur­ing this time.

Dis­ney’s Coron­ado Springs Re­sort will un­dergo re­fur­bish­ments through late 2018.

Fu­ture clo­sures to con­sider:

Dis­ney Quest is clos­ing (again…re­ally…this time) on July 3rd.

Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba will take its fi­nal bow on De­cem­ber 31st.

Splash Moun­tain will be closed from Au­gust 28th un­til Novem­ber 16th.

Don’t for­get, clo­sures are sub­ject to change with­out no­tice. If you have your heart set on an at­trac­tion, be sure to check be­fore you go. Also, check the parks for changes the day of your ar­rival.
