Ther­a­peu­tic rid­ing pro­gram seek­ing vol­un­teers

Ther­a­peu­tic Horse­man­ship of Hawaii’s Kona pro­gram is seek­ing vol­un­teers to as­sist in their pro­gram for spe­cial needs rid­ers.

Vol­un­teers are needed to be horse lead­ers, side­walk­ers, and for ad­min­is­tra­tive and barn chores. The pro­gram op­er­ates from 8: 30 a. m.-1 p.m. on Sun­days at Horse­play Eques­trian Cen­ter in Hon­alo ( mauka of Kona Cof­fee Vil­las).

A new vol­un­teer ori­en­ta­tion and train­ing will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 6 at Horse­play Eques­trian Cen­ter. Light re­fresh­ments will be served fol­low­ing the train­ing.

THH-Kona is a non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion that of­fers ther­a­peu­tic rid­ing and equine as­sisted ed­u­ca­tional and so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties to chil­dren, youth, and adults with spe­cial needs. They are a Pro­fes­sional As­so­ci­a­tion of Ther­a­peu­tic Horse­man­ship, In­ter­na­tional Pre­mier Ac­cred­ited cen­ter.
