Caro­line Ka­hau­nani “Aunty Nani” Ahin, 77, of Pa­hoa, died July 19, 2017, at her res­i­dence. Born in Olaa, she was a re­tired man­ager with “Da Store” in Pa­hoa and a mem­ber of New Hope Chris­tian Fel­low­ship-Puna.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Dodo Mor­tu­ary chapel for a 7 p.m. ser­vice. Friends may also call at noon Aug. 3 at the Hawaii Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery No. 2 for a grave­side com­mit­tal ser­vice. The fam­ily re­quests ca­sual at­tire be worn

She is sur­vived by hus­band, Achi Ahin, of Pa­hoa; son, Cur­tis (Kathy) Ahin, of Moun­tain View; daugh­ters, Denise (Vic­tor) Ven­tura, of Pa­hoa, and Kath­leen (Matthew) Con­ner, of Vir­ginia; hanai daugh­ter, Char­lene Ma­lan­dres, of Pa­hoa; broth­ers, Eu­gene (Glo­ria) Kaluna, of Hilo, and Charles (Lyn­dee) Kaluna, of Pearl City, Oahu; hanai brother, Wes­ley (Bar­bara) Kobayashi, of Pa­hoa; sis­ter, Kath­leen (Solomon) Paio, of Pa­hoa; nine grand­chil­dren; four great-grand­chil­dren; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

El­son Brown

El­son “Bobo” Kanaina Brown, 77, of Hilo, died July 22, 2017, at his res­i­dence. Born in Hilo, he was a re­tired fore­man and line­man at Hawaii Elec­tric Light Co., mu­si­cian and en­ter­tainer in Hilo, owner of the for­mer Bobo Brown Ca­ter­ing and a sup­porter of Hospice of Hilo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. on Aug. 3 at Dodo Mor­tu­ary chapel for an 11 a.m. cel­e­bra­tion of life. The fam­ily re­quests ca­sual at­tire be worn.

He is sur­vived by wife, Lynette Brown, of Hilo; daugh­ters, Lisa Ann (Gil­bert) Bar­retto of Ka­paa, Kauai, and Kim­berly (Manny) Mo­rante and Gly­nis Rose (Le­gin) Moreno, both of Hilo; sis­ter, Hau­nani (Stan­ley) Yorong, of Hilo; 14 grand­chil­dren; 24 great-grand­chil­dren, one great-great-grand­son; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

Florence Ka­hele

Florence Ka­hele, 90, of Pa­hoa, died July 24, 2017, at her res­i­dence. She was born on Jan. 25, 1927, in Honolulu.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. on Aug. 3 at Bal­lard Fam­ily Moanalua Mor­tu­ary on Oahu for a 10 a.m. ser­vice. Burial to follow at Hawai­ian Me­mo­rial Park Ceme­tery.

She is sur­vived by son, Paul (Arnolette) Ka­hele; daugh­ters, Elaine Kealoha, Grace Ka­hele, and Paulette (Pe­dro) Ve­lasco; sis­ter; May (Puni) Ka­mai; eight grand­chil­dren, 16 great- grand­chil­dren, and 17 great-great-grand­chil­dren.

Pa­tri­cia Green­well

Pa­tri­cia “Pat” Gil­man Green­well, 92, of Waimea, died July 18, 2017, at her res­i­dence. Born Oct. 30, 1924, in Honolulu, she was a home­maker and mem­ber of St. James Epis­co­pal Church in Waimea.

Ros­alie Com­bis

Ros­alie C. Com­bis, 58, died July 20, 2017, at Hilo Med­i­cal Cen­ter. She was born on April 8, 1959, on Oahu.

She is sur­vived by daugh­ter, Beke-lu (Ka­leo); broth­ers, By­ron (Amy) Tolbe, and Ja­cob (Johnette) Poki, sis­ters; Saun­dra Tolbe, Dar­lene Com­bis, Roinna Abrams and Honey Girl (Calvin) Ka­malu; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, grand­chil­dren, grand nieces, grand neph­ews and great-grand­chil­dren.
