LavaKids Fam­ily Fun Runs

Novem­ber is Di­a­betes Aware­ness Month and LavaKids, along with Club Re­hab and Lava­man, in a joint ven­ture with Peo­ples Ad­vo­cacy Trails Hawaii, Hawai`i Pub­lic Health In­sti­tute, Hawaii Is­land Healthy Eat­ing Ac­tive Liv­ing and other com­mu­nity or­ga­ni­za­tions will hold runs on Nov. 18 to raise di­a­betes pre­ven­tion aware­ness and cel­e­brate the new trail wayfind­ing/mileage mark­ers on the Queens’ Lei Trail.

Reg­is­tra­tion for the LavaKids Fam­ily Fun Runs be­gins at 7 a.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Cen­ter. Guest speak­ers will fol­low at 7:30 a.m. The Keiki 100 Yard Dash kicks off the Fun Runs at 7:45 with one-mile, two-mile and 5K run/walks im­me­di­ately fol­low­ing on the Queens’ Lei Trail. This event is free and open to all ages with a pur­pose of pro­mot­ing a healthy and ac­tive life­style for the whole fam­ily through run­ning or walk­ing.
