KHPC hosts Thanks­giv­ing Toss Tour­na­ment

The Kona Horse­shoe Pitcher’s Club will hold its an­nual Thanks­giv­ing Toss on Nov. 18 at the Kona Palms Courts horse­shoe pits be­hind the ten­nis courts at Old Kona Air­port Park.

Any­one can en­ter this open, non-sanc­tioned dou­bles tour­na­ment — 50 point game, all points count. Higher ringer per­cent­age play­ers will be des­ig­nated as “A” play­ers. “B” play­ers will draw an “A” player from the hat to be his/her part­ner.

Play­ers of all lev­els are wel­come. En­ter your name by Nov. 13. En­try fee is $15 per player. Pay at check-in at 8 a.m. and pick your part­ner. Every­one wins. Prizes in­clude hams, tur­keys, bags of rice and much more.

The Out-n-Back starts at Kaim­i­nani Drive and Queen Kaahu­manu High­way, then trav­els North 13.5 miles to the 80 mile marker, makes a U Turn and re­turns to the 86 mile marker.

This event is free to 2016/17 and 2017 Hawaii Cy­cling Club mem­bers. Non­mem­bers will pay a $10 one-day mem­ber­ship fee. he an­nual mem­ber­ship fee is $20.

Par­tic­i­pants and vol­un­teers will gather at The Talk Story aid sta­tion af­ter the event for food and bev­er­ages.
