KHPC wraps up 2nd dou­bles league

The Kona Horse­shoe Pitcher’s Club com­pleted its sec­ond dou­bles league of the 2018 sea­son on April 19. The team of Loke and Tiffy Las­ti­mosa took first place witha record of 12-4-2. The club will start its first sin­gles league on May 10 at the Kona Palms Courts be­hind the ten­nis courts at the Old Air­port Park.

Mem­ber­ship is re­quired for this ap­prox­i­mately eight to nine week sanc­tioned sin­gles league. New or re­turn­ing play­ers are wel­come. Hand­i­cap scor­ing is used, en­abling play­ers of all lev­els to par­tic­i­pate. League play is from 4-6 p.m. Thurs­days with a weekly fee of $5. For more in­for­ma­tion call Reg at 7568085.

The club of­fers free in­for­mal play from 9 a.m. to noon every Wed­nes­day at Kona Palms Courts. Also, come down to the horse­shoe courts on Thurs­day evenings from46 p.m. to meet some of the play­ers. Pitch­ers of all lev­els are wel­come. The club is also host­ing its an­nual “Hand of Friend­ship” mixed sin­gles sanc­tioned tour­na­ment on May 5 from 9 a.m. to about 1 p.m. For more in­for­ma­tion call Al at 322-7085.
