Charlotte Sue Evans Atkins
Charlotte Sue Evans Atkins, 74, of Gentry, died July 19, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1942, in Garfield, to Woodrow Evans and Martha Schooley Evans. She was married to Jack Atkins for 58 years. Charlotte was a film processor for a Bentonville photo lab and was a farmer of dairy and livestock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Josh Atkins.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Atkins of the home; sons, Rick Atkins and wife Tammy of Colcord, Okla., and Kyle Atkins and wife Angelena of Gentry; a daughter, Rhonda Atkins of Gentry; and two grandchildren.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m., Monday, July 24, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Burial was to follow in Gentry Cemetery, Gentry. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Jean (Eldred) Mitchell
Jean (Eldred) Mitchell, 79, formerly of Sulphur Springs, died July 17, 2017, in Frisco, Texas.
She was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Sulphur Springs, to Ben and Martha (McArtor) Eldred. She was a stewardess with Braniff Airlines for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son Michael; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Mitchell and Russell Korf.
She is survived by two brothers, R.H. “Rocky” (Virginia) Eldred of Bella Vista, and W.B. “Bill” (Glenda) Eldred of Gravette; four sisters, Jo (Carol) Crom, Garland, Texas; Evelyn Eldred of Lowell; Lucia Taylor of Brandon Fla.; Annette (Tom) Hughes of Alamo, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Korf and Dorothy Mitchell, both of Yuma, Colo.
Interment will be in the GAR cemetery, Sulphur Springs. Arrangements are by Stonebriar Funeral Home, Frisco, Texas. Robert Dean Moorman
Robert Dean Moorman, 68, of Sulphur Springs, died July 13, 2017, while traveling in Ketchikan, Alaska.
He was born in Salina, Kan., on July 1, 1949, to Kenneth Dean Moor- man and Vera Bernice Frick. The family moved to Sulphur Springs in 1960. Robert graduated from Gravette High School in 1967 and received his sociology degree from Arkansas Tech in 1972. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Methodist Church and was actively involved in the Gravette School District. He was an avid Razorback fan and loved watching the Gravette Lions. He worked for Sundancer Homes in Noel, Mo., for 15 years. In 1985, he began raising chickens and cattle and recently retired.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; and a daughter, Robin Kimberly.
He is survived by his wife and companion of 34 years, Teresa Williams; his mother, Vera of Sulphur Springs; sons, Tracy and wife Jennifer of Gravette, and Colton of Gravette; a daughter, Whitney and husband Jeremy Sharp of Springdale; six grandchildren, Bryce, Brady and Ella Moorman of Gravette, Abbey Brown of Warren, Okla., Remington and Wesson Sharp of Springdale; and one sister, Brenda and husband Dan Yates of Sulphur Springs.
Funeral services were July 22 at Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, Bella Vista. Burial followed at the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home, Bella Vista. Dwight D. Philpott
Dwight D. Philpott, 66, of Gentry, died July 18, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 20, 1951, in Bentonville, to William “Ben” Philpott and Goldie Fay Rutherford Philpott. He married Emma Jo and she preceded him in death. He and Danna Ford were married for more than 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; four sisters; and seven brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Danna of the home; daughter, Maisie Varnell and husband Rob of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Wilma Hayes and husband Carl of Sulphur Springs, and Carol Miller of Southwest City, Mo.; brothers, Lannie Philpott and wife Linda of Tulsa, Okla., Lonnie Philpott and wife Barbara of Kansas, Okla., and Dwayne Philpott and wife Ann of Pine Bluff; sisters-in-law Shirley Philpott of Gentry and Maggie Philpott of Sulphur Springs.
Memorial services were Friday, July 21, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, Siloam Springs.
