Barr joins Siloam Springs Fam­ily Medicine

Ste­fanie Barr, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, re­cently joined the staff at Siloam Springs Fam­ily Medicine as a fam­ily nurse prac­ti­tioner. A Mem­ber of the Al­lied Health Pro­fes­sion­als Staff at North­west Health, Barr is ac­cept­ing new pa­tients — ages rang­ing from in­fant to adult — at Siloam Springs Fam­ily Medicine.

Barr re­ceived her mas­ter’s de­gree from Cham­ber­lain Col­lege of Nurs­ing in Down­ers Grove, Ill., with hon­ors, in 2017 as a fam­ily nurse prac­ti­tioner. She com­pleted her bach­e­lor of sci­ence de­gree from Oral Roberts Univer­sity in Tulsa, Okla., in 2012. Barr be­gan her ca­reer as a reg­is­tered nurse spe­cial­iz­ing in emer­gency medicine.

Barr pre­vi­ously prac­ticed medicine at North- west Health Ur­gent Care in Siloam Springs, but re­cently tran­si­tioned to the fam­ily medicine prac­tice.

“We were very ex­cited to find out Ste­fanie had an in­ter­est in fam­ily medicine and wanted to ex­pand to our lo­cal prac­tice,” said Siloam Springs Re­gional Hos­pi­tal chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Patrick Ker­rwood. “Her com­pas­sion­ate care for pa­tients and med­i­cal knowl­edge made her a nat­u­ral fit. Work­ing along­side Dr. E. Beth Harp, Ste­fanie has al­ready been meet­ing new pa­tients and get­ting ac­tive in com­mu­nity events.”

“Tak­ing care of pa­tients is the best part of my job,” Barr said. “I en­joy work­ing in health­care be­cause it al­lows me to help oth­ers in their time of need.”

Barr and her fam­ily are res­i­dents of Lo­cust Grove, Okla., where they live on 40 acres. In her free time, Barr en­joys be­ing with her fam­ily.

“My hus­band and I have a daugh­ter, Stella, age 2, and a son, Jasper, age 5 months,” she said. “We en­joy the out­doors with our new­est fam­ily mem­ber, 9-week old bas­set hound Ma­bel, and spend­ing time with our fam­i­lies.”

Barr’s ex­pe­ri­ence also in­cludes emer­gency medicine travel nurs­ing in mul­ti­ple states. She holds a na­tional cer­ti­fi­ca­tion from the Amer­i­can Academy of Nurse Prac­ti­tion­ers. She is an ac­tive mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Nurses As­so­ci­a­tion, Amer­i­can As­so­ci­a­tion of Nurse Prac­ti­tion­ers, Arkansas Nurse Prac­ti­tioner As­so­ci­a­tion, As­so­ci­a­tion of Ok­la­homa Nurse Prac­ti­tion­ers and Sigma Theta Tau In­ter­na­tional Honor So­ci­ety of Nurs­ing.
