The op­er­a­tors of Lit­tle Dar­lings Day Care were ar­rested Sun­day in con­nec­tion with drug charges.

Siloam Springs po­lice of­fi­cers went Sun­day to the home of Wayne and Bar­bara Hart­ley at 1110 Coun­try Lane for a wel­fare check on the oc­cu­pants, ac­cord­ing to a po­lice de­part­ment news re­lease. The Hart­leys ran the day­care out of their home.

Po­lice ob­served what they be­lieved were mar­i­juana plants and, af­ter get­ting a search war­rant, seized 13 har­vested mar­i­juana plants; two pounds of mar­i­juana; 19 firearms; 75 grams of Kratom and more than $31,000 in cash, ac­cord­ing to the re­lease. The Hart­leys were be­ing held Mon­day in the Ben­ton County Jail in con­nec­tion with man­u­fac­tur­ing a con­trolled sub­stance, pos­ses­sion with in­tent to de­liver, si­mul­ta­ne­ous pos­ses­sion of drugs and firearms and pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance.

De­tec­tives are also look­ing into any po­ten­tial child en­dan­ger­ment charges. Po­lice are ask­ing any­one with chil­dren who at­tended the day­care to con­tact po­lice De­tec­tive Ron Coble at 479524-4118.
