Pioneers down Tigers for 35-0 home­com­ing vic­tory Fri­day night

GENTRY — Bran­don At­wood threw for three touch­downs, and Pey­ton Wright ran for an­other, to lead the Gentry Pioneers to a 4A-1 Con­fer­ence shutout win over the Green For­est Tigers, 350, dur­ing Gentry’s home­com­ing cel­e­bra­tions in Pioneer Sta­dium on Fri­day night.

At­wood com­pleted 13 of 18 passes for 233 yards, in­clud­ing a 51-yard touch­down pass to Wright. He added a 40-yard touch­down pass to Dy­lan Kil­gore and threw an­other to Zack Jar­na­gan, who fin­ished with five catches for 88 yards.

Wright only ran the ball twice, but one of those car­ries was a 46-yard touch­down run. He also caught a touch­down pass from Jar­na­gan, while Gar­rett Hays com­piled 21 tack­les (5 solo, 16 as­sists).

The win put the Pioneers at 2-1 in con­fer­ence play and 2-4 over­all for the sea­son.

The Pioneers are sched­uled to travel to Springdale and take on the Shiloh Chris­tian Saints in con­fer­ence play on Fri­day. Game time in Springdale is 7 p.m.
