Gravette fall fes­ti­val sched­uled this Satur­day

GRAVETTE — The an­nual Gravette com­mu­nity fall fes­ti­val is sched­uled for this Satur­day, Oct. 27, in the front park­ing lot at Ozarks Com­mu­nity Hos­pi­tal. Events will be­gin at 4 p.m. and con­tinue un­til 7 p.m. Par­tic­i­pants are en­cour­aged to come in cos­tume.

A va­ri­ety of booths will be set up with games and treats for the chil­dren. Sev­eral ve­hi­cles will be lined up for the pop­u­lar trunk or treat event and young­sters will be able to do face paint­ing, paint pump­kins and do some hol­i­day crafts. In­flat­a­bles will be on the grounds for the chil­dren’s en­joy­ment, and a pet­ting zoo will be pro­vided. Food and snow cones will be avail­able. A photo booth will be set up where fes­ti­val go­ers can shoot a last­ing mem­ory of the even­ing.

A chili cookoff is al­ways a high­light of the even­ing and teams of chili cooks are en­cour­aged to en­ter and com­pete. En­try fee for each team is $10. Each team will be given a 6x6 foot space to set up and dec­o­rate. Setup may be­gin at 1 p.m. and should be com­plete by 3:30 p.m. The cookoff will be­gin at 4 p.m. and win­ners will be an­nounced at 6:30. Sam­ples will be sold for $1 and tasters who pur­chase the sam­ples will vote on their fa­vorite pots of chili. A $100 prize will be awarded to the win­ner of the best chili vot­ing and a $50 prize will be given to the most creative team. Con­tes­tants are en­cour­aged to name their chili and dec­o­rate their booths to re­flect that name. Re­mem­ber to bring two jars for tasters to put in their votes.

The event will be held, rain or shine.
