Have you lived in Homer your whole ife?

Where Alaska - - Maps -

I’m 31, so I guess I’ve lived in Homer for 30 years. People always wonder how I got into surfing. I always wonder the same thing. It doesn’t seem like a natural fit for someone who grew up here. I guess all I can say is if you’re born with the desire to be in the water, you can’t get away from it even if you’re from Homer. found a kayak and started riding waves in a kayak. It was terrible for waves, and then I got a better kayak. My neighbors bought me a surfboard they found at a garage sale. I paddled out, got washed out, hit the rocks and the board broke into three pieces.

A photo Scott took of brother Fred catching a wave near Yakutat was chosen by Alaskan Brewing Co. for the label of its new Icy Bay IPA.
