Our Favorite Bookstores

Where Atlanta - - CONTENTS -

These are the go-to shops where you can hunt for your next book du jour, whether you're looking for the newest best-seller, children's books, graphic novels or hard-to-find literature. BY MICHELLE KHOURI

Hunkering down with a riveting book is one of life’s greatest pleasures. But with the joy of a book du jour comes the inevitable sorrow of turning its last page and leaving behind the world it so fervently brought to life. Luckily for us literary fiends, a seemingly endless sea of bookshelves beckon us to read on. These bookstores are some of Atlanta’s most popular, whether it’s due to their selection of hard-to-find literary treasures (like at A Cappella Books and Oxford Comics), or the boldness of their books (enter Charis Books), or the vibrancy and comfort of their confines (look no further than Little Shop of Stories and Posman Books). Happy reading! —MICHELLE KHOURI Local bookworms flock to this independent bookstore, which is known for its impressive collection of out-of-print and rare books. An artfully painted chalkboard greets you upon entering and details upcoming events like book signings, author readings and more. 208 Haralson Ave. NE, 404.681.5128. www.acappellabooks.com
