Discover the historical significance and natural beauty of Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park with this 90-minute guide.
One of the best aspects of Kennesaw Mountain is its versatility. Not only does this 2,965-acre National Battlefield offer dozens of trails that range in difficulty from lowaltitude walking paths to challenging hiking paths littered with rocky ledges, but it also offers a good few activities for history buffs. If you only have an hour and a half to spare, we recommend spending 30-45 minutes perusing the tiny-but-mighty museum at the Visitor Center. Free museum tours are offered daily at 1 pm. Don't miss the free 35-minute film about the Atlanta Campaign and Battle of Kennesaw during the Civil War, then spend the rest of your time enjoying the park's natural beauty and scenic views. Friendly guides at the Visitor Center can help you pick a trail that's best suited for you. www.nps.gov/kemo
