Where Atlanta - - EDITOR’S ITINERARY -

Once upon a time, a 22-mile railroad corridor encircling Atlanta fell victim to neglect. Today, this once-decaying ring of rails is the basis for one of the nation’s largest redevelopment projects and a wildly popular attraction for both Atlantans and those visiting the city.

Five major hiking-biking-jogging trails and seven parks offer ample space for exercising any way you choose and for however long. As you move, catch sight of amazing works of public art that are always being refreshed, watch skateboarders turn flip tricks at the world-class Fourth Ward Skatepark, splash around in streams or manmade water sources, try your hand at discgolf on an 18-hole course, and encounter some kudzu-eating goats.
