The land­mark Sil­ver Skil­let, has been a fa­vorite of na­tive At­lantans since it opened in 1956. Long the meet­ing place for politi­cians, celebri­ties and movie stars, the Sil­ver Skil­let is one of the few es­tab­lish­ments left that of­fers a gen­uine Southern break­fast of coun­try ham, homemade bis­cuits and red-eye gravy. Lunch time is another feast fea­tur­ing tra­di­tional veg­etable dishes such as black-eyed peas, fried okra, fried green toma­toes and homemade cob­blers.
