Pride of Baltimore II
The globe-sailing ship communes with its hometown.
As a “goodwill ambassador” for Maryland, this elegant vessel has sailed more than 200,000 miles, dropping anchor off far-flung destinations like Scotland, Russia and China. But this year, the ship—a reproduction of an 1812-era topsail schooner—stays close to home port. From her Inner Harbor dock (301 E. Pratt Street), the crew gives tours and takes visitors out for day sails. Those with sturdy sea legs can even charter the ship or act as guest crew on an overnight voyage.
