Like The Castro in San Francisco and Oak Lawn in Dallas, the South End (1) is Boston’s official ‘gayborhood.’ Come here to meet up, and while you’re at it, soak in the ‘hood’s Victorian era charms. For the South End’s Tremont 647 (2), two decades is long enough to cement it as a favorite hangout. Expect a mixed crowd, but late night trends largely gay. On Lansdowne Street, the House of Blues (3) hosts Chris Harrison’s EPIC Saturday, billed as “New England’s largest gay dance event,” every Saturday night at 10:30 pm. Over in Cambridge, palm trees and crashing surf this Paradise is not, but for gay men who like to party, it’s a slice of heaven complete with muscular male dancers showing off a lot of skin.
