The Ravenel Bridge is a defin­ing fix­ture of Charleston’s sky­line. Spend a morn­ing get­ting a close-up look at the bridge and spec­tac­u­lar views of the city. Drive across Ravenel Bridge, exit on West Cole­man Boule­vard and fol­low the signs to Mount Pleas­ant Wa­ter­front Park. You can walk the en­tire 2.7-mile span or stop mid­way at the over­look for views of the Charleston peninsula and the USS York­town. If you’d rather not walk across the bridge, stroll down the Mount Pleas­ant Pier at the Wa­ter­front Park for a dif­fer­ent view as the ca­ble stay bridge spans above you. Stop into the Town of Mount Pleas­ant Visitor Cen­ter or the River Watch Cafe and Gift Shop. For lunch, head to Shem Creek where you can watch fish­ing boats as you eat fresh seafood at one of the sev­eral restau­rants that line the wa­ter. Spend the af­ter­noon at Pa­tri­ots Point Naval and Mar­itime Mu­seum, where you can tour the im­pres­sive USS York­town, a World War II air­craft car­rier. Take in more great views from the flight deck.
