‘MEX­ICO: 19001950’

Ex­plore the themes, artists and cul­tural nar­ra­tives of the 20th cen­tury Mex­i­can Mod­ernist move­ment at the Dal­las Mu­seum of Art. “Méx­ico 19001950: Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, José Cle­mente Orozco, and the Avant-Garde” il­lu­mi­nates mas­ter­pieces and in­flu­en­tial works from both the ex­hi­bi­tion and the mu­seum’s per­ma­nent col­lec­tion.

‘TEXAS MODERNISTS’ Roughton Gal­leries

gets con­tem­po­rary with “Texas Modernists,” an ex­clu­sive ex­hi­bi­tion com­pris­ing cu­rated works from four of Texas’ most im­por­tant 20th and 21st cen­tury artists—Mar­garet Put­nam, Dan Rizzie, Otis Huband and Mark La­vatelli. Put­nam’s unique artis­tic process and aes­thetic are es­pe­cially cap­ti­vat­ing.


Now through July 2, see works by the leg­endary fash­ion pho­tog­ra­pher Richard Avedon at the Amon Carter Mu­seum of Amer­i­can Art. “Avedon in Texas: Se­lec­tions from ‘In the Amer­i­can West’” con­veys a raw sense of early Amer­i­can life.
