A True American Tradition
Known for its large prime steaks and lobsters, The Palm restaurant originally served Italian cuisine from two immigrants who intended on calling the place “Parma” (a city official misunderstood their English). Soon, hungry cartoonists from the nearby King Features news syndicate began the practice of drawing caricatures on the walls for dinner; the restaurant quickly became a haven for New York’s most influential citizens.
