Among the stable of glorious restaurants that have opened over the past year is db Brasserie, a contemporary French steakhouse brought to brilliant life through the mind of Daniel Boulud. Here, we’re happy to find such items as crispy duck confit and the tempting Brandt beef ribeye (below). At We also love Japanese sensation Kumi, a fusion of authentic Japanese recipes, sushi and modern Korean-American dishes. The restaurant’s atmosphere is open and inviting; it feels like you’re stepping down into a relative’s living room, and indeed, traditional Japanese dwellings were the inspiration.
