Pretty as a Picture

Where Las Vegas - - WHERE NOW -

A tribute to the classic calendar girl, the glamour of the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s comes to life in Stratosphere’s (702.380.7777) PIN UP, which stars Playboy’s 2011 Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair (at left), who takes on an entire year of gorgeous (and barely there) costumes, among them a firefighter, a baseball player and a witch.

As a youth, Sinclair predicted her involvement in the pin-up world, when she told her father “I’m going to do that when I grow up,” after quizzing him about pin-up art. She was painted by Playboy artist Olivia de Beradinis at age 18 and was the youngest ever Playmate of the Year.

At the opposite end of the Strip, has been going strong for more than 15 years, thanks to the ingenuity of choreographer Anita Mann, who once danced for Elvis Presley. The adult revue’s seductive vignettes play into the fantasies of its audience members, and include three ladies cavorting in one bed, an emulation of Jessica Rabbit, a performance on a silk sash and thrilling dances that feature the entire cast—fantasies that are appealing to both singles and couples. Singer Jaime Lynch (seen on the this issue’s table of contents) truly makes the show stand out—her powerhouse vocals include renditions of contemporary rock and country tunes.
