Mixologists infuse craft cocktails with fresh herbs, spices and fruits.
A resurgence of classic and pre-prohibition cocktails is now trending in the beverage industry. The Moscow Mule is making a kick-ass comeback while interest in the Manhattan and the Cosmopolitan has spiked, thanks to “Sex in the City” and “Mad Men.” In Hawai‘i, mixologists are stocking their bars with elements that were once reserved for kitchens. Herbs, spices, syrups and reductions are now just as common as bourbons, gins and vodkas. And when shaken, stirred and muddled, these ingredients make for irresistible elixirs.
