The fashionable jewelry designer describes what her perfect day consists of.
Growing up in Switzerland, the Thai and Swiss beauty has channeled her heritage and travels around the world into creating jewelry for women, men and children for more than 10 years. A mother of three, she also put her efforts into helping children who lack the finances to pursue their dreams in art, music and sports. Collins teamed up with her then-husband, musician Phil Collins, to create the Little Dreams Foundation in 2000. Phil will be performing on Dec. 6 at the Fillmore Miami Beach with Laura Pausini and Alejandra Guzman to benefit the nonprofit.
How long have you been designing jewelry?
I have been designing jewelry since 2003. My first project was with Van Cleef and Arpels. It was a charmbracelet at auction in favor of the Little Dreams Foundation.
What was the motivation to create a children’s line?
My motivation was my children. I honestly started designing for my boys. The three of them have a special medal in gold with some special words engraved, designed my me. They wear it all the time; it’s truly their lucky charm.
What can we look forward to?
My new line just came out, it’s called OC SLAVE.
Why did you choose the Miami Design District for your flagship store?
It’s the new place to be. It will be like SoHo in New York.
What is your favorite Miami landmark?
The Freedom Tower, definitely.
What is the best part of being in Miami?
I enjoy living here. It’s great weather and it’s great to raise a family.
