Where Miami - - WHERE NOW -

AFTER YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION, The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science will open on May 8. “Visitors [will] get a glimpse of the best of South Florida and maybe this will inspire them to explore further,” says Frost Science Museum president Frank Steslow. And by the best, he means a massive 250-seat 3D planetarium offering laser light shows starting in June plus, an aviary, a three-level aquarium and hi-tech exhibits. Science lovers get ready to be blown away by the variety of marine life in the half-ton Gulf Stream tank, which is home to black fin tuna, mahi-mahi, barracuda and scalloped hammer heads. There’s also coral, beachfront and Everglades habitats with wildlife native to the area. 1101 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, 305.434.9600, frostscience.org –Rebecca McBane For more great museums in Miami, visit wheretraveler.com
