The Frick Collection
The Upper East Side mansion of industrialist and art collector Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919) houses one of the world’s most magnificent collections of old-master paintings, furnishings and decorative arts. Pictured is the Living Hall, featuring El Greco’s “St. Jerome” above the fireplace, Hans Holbein’s portraits of Sir Thomas More and Thomas Cromwell to its left and right, French 18th- century furniture, Chinese porcelains and Italian Renaissance bronzes.
