Contrary to popular belief, Hawai‘i does cycle through seasons and summer is one of our favorites. Not only is it a time when families gather for fun under the sun (pages 12-13) but it’s also when special summer festivals take place across the island (page 16). A few of the more entertaining events include the two-day Prince Lot Hula Festival, the Slack Key Guitar Festival and the 46th Annual ‘Ūkulele Festival Hawai‘i (page 8). Chefs will put on their own show during a friendly “Throwdown” during Mangoes at the Moana (page 14).
