THEME PARK VIEWING

Where Orlando - - Where Now -

If you’re pressed for time and aren’t able to spare a day from the theme parks, you can actually see manatees at SeaWorld Orlando and at Epcot, which both serve as licensed wildlife rehabilitation centers. Each year, Disney’s Animal Programs support the rescue and rehabilitation of more than 1,000 injured and orphaned wild animals. The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot is a designated rehabilitation site for rescued manatees. You can observe the manatees and watch as they devour an entire salad bar of lettuce during feeding times. 200 Epcot Center Drive; www.mydisneyexperience.com To date, SeaWorld has rescued 500 manatees. “You can come nose-to-nose with manatees at TurtleTrek, or see them being cared for at our Manatee Rehabilitation Center on a guided tour,” says Michael Boos, vice president, zoological operations. “We’re proud of our efforts rescuing and helping manatees since 1976 and working with others in Florida in creating awareness for the need to save manatees in the wild.” 7007SeaWorld Drive; www.seaworldparks.com
