Your most vivid night­mares will spill onto the streets of Univer­sal Stu­dios this fall at Hal­loween Hor­ror Nights. Univer­sal’s set de­sign­ers, make-up artists and spe­cial-ef­fect en­gi­neers have cre­ated nine haunted houses fea­tur­ing new themes like “The Ex­or­cist” as well as en­hanced fa­vorites like “The Walk­ing Dead” and “Texas Chain­saw Mas­sacre.” Plus, mul­ti­ple mon­ster-filled scare zones, scream-filled live shows and thrilling rides run­ning in the dead of night com­bine for fright­fully fun may­hem. MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY HAL­LOWEEN PARTY

Dress up in your fa­vorite cos­tumes and trick- or-treat your way around Dis­ney’s Magic King­dom. Kids re­ceive trick- or-treat bags and fol­low two trails through­out the park from 7 pm to mid­night, while en­joy­ing shorter lines for the rides. The Boo to You Pa­rade is a spec­ta­cle of light and fright fea­tur­ing the Haunted Man­sion grave dig­gers and Dis­ney vil­lains like Malef­i­cent, Ja­far and Cruella de Vil. Don’t for­get to ride Haunted Man­sion where cos­tumed cast mem­bers en­ter­tain while you wait in line. The ex­cite­ment cul­mi­nates in nightly Hal­loWishes Fire­works at 9:30 pm. SEAWORLD’S HAL­LOWEEN SPOOK­TAC­U­LAR

Be im­mersed in an un­der­wa­ter world of mys­te­ri­ous sea life. Kids love trick- or-treat­ing their way around the park with whim­si­cal char­ac­ters, par­tic­i­pat­ing in sea-themed ac­tiv­i­ties in a car­ni­val-like set­ting and the Sesame Street “Count­down to Hal­loween” with Elmo, the Count and friends. LE­GOLAND’S BRICK OR TREAT

This friendly-not-frightening event fea­tures trick- or-treat­ing along the Brick- or-Treat Trail, the world’s largest LEGO jack- o-lan­tern made of 26,500 bricks, a spooky scav­enger hunt, kids’ cos­tume con­test and a Hal­loween-themed fire­works show in Pi­rates’ Cove.
