CEN­TEN­NIAL AR­BORE­TUM— Built in 1979 on the site of the for­mer Hor­ti­cul­tural Hall, an 1876 Ex­po­si­tion build­ing, The Fair­mount Park Hor­ti­cul­ture Cen­ter has in­door and out­door splen­dors for hor­ti­cul­tural en­thu­si­asts. The Hor­ti­cul­ture Cen­ter fea­tures a vis­i­tor cen­ter and green­house, while the ar­bore­tum hosts ponds, a Ja­panese maple col­lec­tion, an ev­er­green col­lec­tion, sculp­tures of po­ets and mu­si­cians and plants of all types. LONGWOOD GAR­DENS— A hor­ti­cul­tural par­adise with 1,050 acres of gar­dens, wood­lands, mead­ows and 20 in­door gar­dens, plus an ex­tra­or­di­nary “Na­ture’s Cas­tles” tree house ex­hibit.
