2 PHILADEL­PHIA CHI­NESE LANTERN FES­TI­VAL > MAY 9JUNE 11 This Asian-in­spired fes­ti­val re­turns to Franklin Square for its sopho­more ef­fort. Ex­pect a 200-foot Chi­nese dragon, silk sculp­tures, dances and ac­ro­bat­ics, Asian cook­ing and the Dragon Beer Gar­den, and 29 il­lu­mi­nated, hand- crafted lanterns, of course. 3 NEW HOPE PRIDE PA­RADE > MAY 20 The hall­mark event dur­ing the cel­e­bra­tion that is New Hope’s an­nual Pride Fes­ti­val (May 14-21) ac­tu­ally be­gins across the state line in Lam­bertville, N. J., be­fore cross­ing the Delaware River in a show of bands, floats and per­for­mance en­sem­bles. This trib­ute to di­ver­sity and in­clu­sion cre­ates a sense of com­mu­nity among with a fun, free-spir­ited en­thu­si­asm.
